A Journey to Healthy Alkaline living that was introduced to me by the name of Richard Davidson. He is a true “Alkalarian” and is out to help people learn more about the program and live that healthy alkaline living. He has inspired me to take this journey and explore a new way of eating and changing the way I live my life now. Also, with my husband being a diabetic he is teaching me how to make great meals for him and rid him hopefully, of having to use needles, which he hates. (Click here to get the background and overview of the program)
So as we take this journey to a healthier life we first need to discover more about what we want to achieve in life and what is a healthy living. I know that I do not eat healthy because of the hours that I have worked. And my husband needs to change a little in his way of eating and discard a few of his bad habits. This for sure is not going to be an easy task but I have the man himself ready to help me through this journey and very proud to say that I am glad I have met him.
Who is the man that started living a Healthy Alkaline Living?
First; He is a gentleman that is very passionate Ambassador of Alkaline Health and Wellness. Second; He is a man that lives his life as an Alkalinity 24/7. He is so passionate about what he is and does that he not only talks about it-“He is alive to walk the talk”.
Who he is:

He continues to live a healthy lifestyle and now he want’s to share his purpose and pay-it-forward to family, friends and associates. Let’s take the next step and commit to a program that has been around for over a 100 years and works if you are truly committed to this program. So, let’s change from the Standard American Diet (S.A.D)..to the Alkalarian lifestyle. I know I am as I would like to be able to travel with my husband and do things when we retire. SO CHANGE IS ON THE WAY, HERE WE COME.
So, What is an Alkaline Diet?
This is not going to be an easy journey so take it slow and learn how to eat and what to eat. This diet is intended to improve nutrient deficiencies, decrease pain, and improve heart health. I don’t know about you but that sounds pretty amazing. With that, it is intended to maintain your blood pH level to a more alkaline level than acidic.
First; when buying your vegetables you need to know where they are grown and in what type of soil. With that, the vitamin and mineral content of the food tends to be higher when farmers go organic. So, yes buy organic fruits and vegetables is the best choice. Fruits and vegetables are the key component with the alkaline diet. They have the right amount to correct your pH level. Here are a few fruits that are good for an alkaline diet; raisins, dates, bananas, figs and watermelon. Many of the vegetable grown are great for your alkaline diet, such as; fresh mushrooms, cucumber, tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, celery, beets, and jicama.
Next step toward Alkaline Living
We all think that drinking regular tap water or filtered is good for you. It is but to get the right pH level and alkalinity we should all be drinking Alkaline water. Who knew, not me didn’t know there was a difference. Next, it’s time to add some herbs and spices to those vegetables when cooking. By adding the right spices and herbs will help raise the pH levels in your body. Here are a few to add to your shopping list; Ginger, cinnamon, curry powder, mustard seed, and chili pepper have the highest alkalinity of the spices. Spices have a lot of nutritional values so add away and enjoy your meals.
The next best thing is to eat plant based protein and stay away from meat like, beef, pork and chicken. You can get plenty of protein from almonds, navy beans and many other types of beans. Think good protein guys. Then to add to that, eat raw vegetables, you lose all the nutrients when you cook them. If you do choose to cook make sure to steam them and a little on the crunchy side. Next, try to drink some greens by making a drink from either fresh vegetable or from powder found in health food stores. There are plenty of recipes you can find online. So happy days are coming and so is a healthy living. God bless and good luck.
One thing to remember is to stay away from high sodium, eggs, pasta, grains or oats and bread. But most of all stay away from pre packaged and processed food.
