I have had some Good Times With Family at the Ocean when I was growing up as a child. When my mom was around, we used to go camping on the weekends in Wells Maine. We had a seasonal camper there in the summer. To me, these were the best memories I had with my mom and spending time at the ocean. My mom would bring us swimming, walk the beach with us and enjoy quiet time. I love looking for shells and playing in the sand. When it was time to go, my mom would bring us out to eat. Sometimes we would go out for seafood, my favorite. I miss my mom and the good times we had camping. With that, I have wonderful memories to keep in my heart to remember her by.
Making Memories With Family
So, if you have never had seafood, you don’t know what you are missing out on. I grew up in a big family and we used to go camping all the time. We would all sit around a campfire at night and play games and sometimes, have Lobster boiling over a campfire. Boy, I wish we had the opportunity to play that backyard football game when I was growing up, we were all football fans back then. You want to talk about yummy, those were some amazing times and memories I had growing up as a kid.
I remember in the early spring my family would all gather at the lake house. Both my aunt and uncle had homes facing each other and would have some amazing times there. Anyway, we would all go up there at night and go smelting. Us kids would have a blast, the adults would clean and cook them as fast as we caught them. Those were the good old days of growing up.
Teenage Years and Family fun
Oh ya the good ole teenage years and spending time with the family at camp, fishing, swimming and playing. We all had a grand ole time. The best was the food cooked outside on the firepit. We used to have a lot of family gatherings at camp, and boy, do I miss those days. Nothing like family, lot’s of BBQ’S, and great memories. It all seems like yesterday and the memories with my family. Sadly, most have passed on to heaven and family is getting smaller but still remain in my heart.
During the summer I used to travel with my two aunt’s. We have been to Quebec, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Your city and a few other places. Man, did I have some amazing food and quite a variety. I think my favorite was Quebec and to be able to learn a different culture and the food was amazing. So, I can say as a child growing up that I have had some amazing times in my life and then I graduated from high school. Went to a small secretarial school, lost interest and ended up working with special needs children. I am so glad that I had the chance to work with them as it has changed my life and really enjoyed my time with the kids. Now, the journey into adult life.
My journey with my boys
So, moving on to a whole new life with my previous husband and 2 boys. At the time I was working in Massachusetts at the Boston school for the deaf. I met my husband who was in the navy with my cousin. I got married and had my first boy. Then, he got out of the service and we moved to upstate NY where he was from. Then I had another Boy. My life was going great and then one day my world turned upside down. I moved back home with my mom for a bit, found a job and got my own place.
I was enjoying my freedom with my 2 boys and would not have changed a thing. But, then I found a man and got married a second time. It lasted 21 years then he left. Now, I am with the man of my dreams and would not change my life for anyone or anything. Both my boys are grown and married, my youngest has a little girl. We have had some good times together as I used to take them camping all the time until they got older and wanted to spend more time with friends. I made lots of memories with my boys and would not have changed a thing.
The future and where it leads to
Man, looking back you think wow, where has the time gone? Sometimes it seems like just the other day. I have had some great times growing up and some not so good, but sure everyone has to. Right now I am trying to wrap my head around the new technology that is being launched and it totally amazes me. I am talking about this new crypto mining watch that is truly amazing. So, in my final thoughts I am not getting any younger and the cold winters are getting worse and I hate them. Soon my husband and I are going to take the leap of faith and move to a warmer climate.
